A new international chapter opens for Soul-Food Vocalists . The quartet of Antonella, Carmen, Simone, and Francesco will be among the stars of the sixteenth season of The Voice of Germany , the popular German music talent show that kicks off on September 11th . And there's a detail that makes their presence even more significant: in the official list of participants, the group is listed as having Pompeii as their hometown.
Three presences from Italy, but Pompeii is the indicated provenance for the quartet
Topics index
There are three Italians in total on the official list for the new season. In addition to Soul-Food Vocalists, Zayed and Simone Olivetti appear , both listed as hailing from the Province of Bolzano, South Tyrol . The quartet, however, is listed as being from Pompeii.
A distinction that brings the Campania city directly to the scene of the German talent show and that accompanies the new adventure of the group, already accustomed to competing on international stages and musical contexts.
From Italian television to international experience
The Soul-Food Vocalists' journey to Germany follows a series of experiences that helped define the quartet's artistic identity. Among these was participation in The Voice Generations , where Francesco, Simone, Carmen, and Antonella reached the superfinal on Gigi D'Alessio 's team.
Adding to this experience is the performance at the Apollo Theatre in New York , another important milestone in the group's history. Not just a simple vocal quartet, then, but a group that has built its show on the interaction between the four voices and the instruments, developing a recognizable musical identity and a performative dimension designed for the stage.
The recently concluded Epico Tour also fits into this path. The project brought to the stage an Italian and international repertoire reinterpreted through epic, orchestral, and symphonic arrangements , with vocal harmonies at the heart of the show.
The first test in front of the Blind Auditions
The new adventure will begin with the Blind Auditions , the moment in which the coaches listen to the artists without being able to see them. Their seats face the stage, and only the decision to press the button allows them to turn towards the singer.
For Soul-Food Vocalists, it will be their voice, even before their image and background, that will have to convince the coaches. If more than one position is turned over, the artists themselves will choose the team on which they will continue their journey.
Sixteenth edition with last season's coaches
The new season of The Voice of Germany will be the sixteenth and will feature the same coaching team as the previous season: Rea Garvey, Shirin David, Nico Santos, Michi Beck, and Smudo . This continuity characterizes the new television show, pitting the Soul-Food Vocalists against a panel of judges who also starred in last year's competition.
Matthias Killing and Melissa Khalaj will host instead . Killing replaces Thore Schölermann , who left the program after fourteen years.
The appointment is September 11th
The debut is scheduled for Friday, September 11th at 8:15 pm on SAT.1 and Joyn. The sixteenth season also introduces a new weekend slot: episodes will air on Fridays on SAT.1 and on Saturdays on ProSieben, both at 8:15 pm. The episodes will also be available on Joyn , both live and later on demand.
For the Soul-Food Vocalists, therefore, the next stage will not be that of an Italian square or theater. It will be a German television studio, in front of millions of viewers and a jury called upon to evaluate their skill and decide their fate.
And that very name, Pompeii, the city that has now adopted them, will accompany the Neapolitan group in the international list of talents of the new edition: a precise geographical reference that brings the Campania city directly into the new challenge of The Voice of Germany.
