The Ministry of Tourism has officially adopted and published the Directorial Decree containing the results of the investigation into the “Staff House – Title II” program , which establishes the provisional allocation of incentives intended for the redevelopment and creation of housing for workers in the tourism and hospitality sector.
A crucial and long-awaited step for the entire sector, both for hotel and non-hotel accommodation facilities , which aims to resolve one of the historical critical issues of the sector: the availability of decent, sustainable and affordable accommodation for seasonal and permanent employees.

The investigation relating to Title II of the program (regulated by the Ministerial Decree of 18 September 2025 and the Ministerial Decree of 30 January 2026) confirmed the funding of projects capable of generating 3.566 new hospital beds throughout the country.
These new accommodations will add to the over 60.000 beds at controlled prices already supported thanks to the measures envisaged by Staff House – Title III , bringing the plan to have a long-term structural impact on the social and economic sustainability of the Italian reception sector.
Summary of resources and applications submitted
The call for tenders saw an extraordinary turnout from operators:
Total questions submitted: 102
Total proposed investments: 149,9 million euros
Requested benefits: over 80,8 million euros
Initial financial allocation: 54 million euros
Faced with the high volume of requests, the investigation outlined the following picture:
32 applications for temporary concessions;
21 questions not accepted ;
17 questions under investigation ;
32 pending applications , which will be added soon thanks to subsequent ranking updates.
Minister Gianmarco Mazzi's comment: "A structural response to the sector"
The Minister of Tourism, Gianmarco Mazzi , highlighted the strategic value of the intervention promoted by the Meloni Government:
"Once again, the Meloni Government is responding to the needs of a sector that has welcomed the Staff House initiative. Applications have far exceeded the initial allocation: this proves we're moving in the right direction. With 3.566 new beds and over 60.000 at subsidized rates, already supported, we're providing a structural and long-term response. Hospitable homes for those working in tourism mean better services, longer seasonality, and more competitive businesses."
Types of participating businesses: the key role of micro and small hospitality businesses
The map of proponents highlights the cross-sectoral involvement of Italian tourism businesses, with a strong focus on small and micro-structures, the backbone of both hotel and non-hotel hospitality:
Small businesses: 43 applications (€48,7 million of proposed investments);
Medium-sized enterprises: 24 questions;
Microenterprises: 22 questions;
Large Enterprises: 13 Questions.
The eligible interventions mainly concern building redevelopment works , completion of housing , energy efficiency and environmental sustainability of buildings intended for workers.
