Why is photovoltaic the priority investment for the hospitality sector?
Topics index
In today's B2B market, the impact of energy costs on the ADR (Average Daily Rate) has become a critical competitiveness factor.
With a financial endowment of 20 million euros , the Lazio Region aims to transform companies into clean energy producers.
For a hotel, this means not only reducing fixed costs, but also improving market positioning thanks to sustainability, a parameter increasingly required by international booking portals.
Access requirements for accommodation facilities
The call is open to micro, small, medium, and large enterprises based in Lazio. For large enterprises , access is limited to a new installed capacity of at least 600 kWp.
Property: Must be available through a registered contract.
Minimum project: The investment must be equal to or greater than €75.000.
Timing: Interventions must not have been started before the application is submitted.
What are the aid intensities for your facility?
The contribution varies based on company size and type of expenditure. Below is a comparison table to guide your investment:
| Expense Category | Micro and Small Businesses | Medium-sized enterprises | Big business |
| A – Photovoltaic System | 65 % | 55 % | 45 % |
| B – Storage Systems | 50 % | 40 % | 30 % |
| C – Technical Expenses | 90 % | 90 % | 90 % |
| E – Surety | 90 % | 70 % | 50 % |
📌 Immediate Actions:
Check that your ATECO code is eligible (the Tourism sector is included).
Prepare an energy audit to correctly size the system based on historical consumption.
Access GeCoWEB Plus from January 19th to pre-fill.
Eligible expenses and cost ceilings
To ensure the efficiency of the incentives, the Region has set maximum limits per kWp:
Systems ≤ 200 kWp: €1.200/kWp
Between 200 and 600 kWp: €1.100/kWp
Systems > 600 kWp: €1.050/kWp
In addition to the modules (which must be certified and produced in the EU), inverters, monitoring systems, related construction works and storage systems (batteries) are eligible for financing, which are essential for covering the evening consumption peaks typical of accommodation facilities.
How to maximize your ranking score?
The call for applications is not open-ended but requires a score-based evaluation (minimum 40/100). To advance in the ranking, consider these factors:
Coverage of needs: The more the system is sized for actual self-consumption, the higher the score (max 30 points).
Grid independence: Integrating a storage system ≥ 30% guarantees 5 extra points.
Certifications: Having Gender Equality Certification or environmental certifications (ISO 14001, EMAS) provides an immediate competitive advantage.
All components for panel purchases must be factory-new. However, an advance payment can be requested upon presentation of a guarantee (which can also be financed up to 90%).
Applications are evaluated until all places are filled.

Transform your hotel into a Green Factory
The Lazio Solar Energy Call for Companies represents the most concrete opportunity in 2026 to permanently reduce your facility's occupancy cost . The technical complexity of the documentation, however, requires collaboration between technology providers and financial advisors.
Applications must be submitted online through the GeCoWEB Plus platform from 12:00 on February 3, 2026, until 17:00 on March 31, 2026.
In the hotel industry, the difference between those who receive a non-repayable grant and those who arrive late is often a matter of hours . The 2026 regional funds will be quickly absorbed by those facilities that already have the necessary documents ready.
