Many times you have been told over and over again that the website is very important for your hotel. But why? We can say first of all that it is the digital business card that can be reached all over the world.
How to improve a hotel website: easy and immediate advice
We try to understand it in this article by analyzing together what to do and which easy and immediate elements can be useful to improve a site.
First of all we must understand what the purpose of its creation is:
- Make yourself known and reach potential customers in the shortest time possible.
- Always be in contact with regular and new customers;
- Help promote your business and stimulate the interest of future buyers.
To get more bookings it is necessary to improve the website.
That said, it seems easy! In reality this is not the case.
In the hotel industry, a good, efficient hotel website must be clear to navigate, easy to use, and fast.
In the first case, a hotel website is easy to consult because it is well organised: with a coordinated "site map", including detailed information that clearly describes the hotel, for example where it is located, how to get there, the services offered , the opening period of the structure (if it is seasonal), the check in and check out times and so on.
Generally, a mistake to avoid in the section dedicated to "how to reach us" is not to insert only the Google maps link to the site, but to add the route carefully described by yourself. This is because the directions obtained from navigators, Tom Toms or the very useful Google maps may not be updated to the real road situation and suggest to the customer that a journey to follow is incorrect or complicated to follow. Result? A check in with nervous, tired and annoyed guests. It's not the best way to have the first direct contact with our customers.
As regards the ease of use of a site, it must be suitable for the customer, without taking anything for granted, because he is the real user of the site.
It is essential that the menus are clear and intuitive, with immediate and essential contents.
In my opinion, the ideal would be to communicate short and well-described information. A good preliminary presentation work will certainly have excellent feedback in the long term.
Finally, not to forget: to improve your hotel's website and not lose reservations, it is essential to continuously update it both in terms of current news, current and future events and tourist information in the area; both as regards the configuration of the site itself. What do I mean? Have you noticed that most people are increasingly using tablets and mobile phones to book a stay in their desired tourist location? We know well that we can no longer do without the internet, as most people are continuously connected and use the website to obtain information in real time.
Well, today it is really important for a hotel website to be responsive.
