Creating hotel menus: tips for creating one that is efficient and effective

    • The first step that restaurant owners must consider is the target customer they wish to host. It is essential for the creation of an ad hoc menu and to satisfy any request made by the customer and to satisfy him as much as possible. Before deciding on your menu you have to think about who your restaurant's clientele will be, if Italian propose an Italian menu if foreign propose a foreign menu. Being a hotel restaurant and therefore with foreign tourists, it would be appropriate to include both Italian dishes and some dishes from other nationalities in order to satisfy your guests.
    • Many restaurant owners decide to also include photos of their dishes on the menu. The latter could be a great solution to give the customer an idea. For a guest, the photo will certainly be more satisfying than words. The customer will certainly be more inclined to order a dish with a nice photo nearby rather than another.
    • As far as prices are concerned, what many owners don't know is that prices must be written starting from the lowest price at the top of the list and the highest price at the bottom of the list. Avoid using currency as it may disturb your guests.
    • Another aspect of considerable importance is to create a short menu. Guests are hungry and don't want to browse the menu for too long and be undecided about what to choose. It is also advisable to have a separate menu for wines and desserts so as not to confuse things.
    • As the last but not least important step to follow when creating a menu for hotels it's just the graphics. As we said before, the eye also wants its part. Having linear graphics will entice the customer to order. It is better if you choose simple but at the same time captivating graphics. The aesthetic choice of the menu is very important as it is the business card of your restaurant. Use strong and bold colors so as not to have problems reading. It would be advisable to opt for 2 doors to make it easier to see the dishes.
