In new decree of August New measures are planned for the tourism and hotel sectors.

Let's see what these are measures adopted in favor of this sector which has suffered serious losses but which, thanks also to the fact that many Italians have chosen to stay in the Bel Paese for their holidays, is trying to start again.

Among the measures aimed at supporting businesses, one is planned 100% deduction of personnel costs, the duration of which varies based on the type of contract. In particular:

  • for permanent hires the contribution exemption is 6 months;
  • for fixed-term or seasonal hires, a 3-month decontribution is applied;
  • for those who return to work from layoffs, a 4-month decontribution is envisaged.

Furthermore, with the August Decree, the redundancy fund was extended by 18 weeks (until December 31, 2020). Again to protect workers, a 1.000 euro bonus intended for both self-employed workers and seasonal resources in the tourism sector.

In this decree, a rental tax credit is also provided which provides for a 60% tax credit for rent of the properties of tourism businesses which has been extended to spa activities and extended by one month.

Companies with a turnover of up to 5 million euros can access this type of relief. Hotels, farmhouses, travel agencies and tour operators, however, they have no turnover limits.

Another good news that came with this decree is the extension of the Tosap. In fact, to encourage outdoor consumption, allowing the resumption of activities in total safety, exemption from the tax for the occupation of public spaces and areas (Tosap/Cosap) has been extended until December 31, 2020.

Furthermore, it was the subsidy intended for redevelopment works has been raised to 65%. and the improvement of tourist-accommodation activities. With the August Decree, outdoor structures such as farmhouses and campsites can also access the tax credit.

A further benefit for the tourism sector includes theexemption of the second Imu 2020 installment for properties of accommodation facilities and properties of fairs and conferences, bathing and spa establishments and discos.

As regards mortgages, however, the suspension until March 31, 2021 of mortgage installments due on 30 September 2020.

Also confirmed restaurant bonuses with a minimum non-repayable contribution of 2.500 euros, to be used for the purchase of products from the made in Italy agri-food chain.
